TerasBatam.id: A soccer athlete from Batam, Rafly Ramadan, was called by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to join the Training Camp (TC) with the Indonesian Men’s National Football Team for the U-20 World Cup in 2023. Rafly Ramadan is certain to be one of the football players who fight at the U-20 world level.

The letter, dated September 1, 2021, was signed by the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi, calling for Rafly Ramadan to join the training camp for the Indonesian U-18 Men’s Football National Team which will be held from 5 to 11 September 2021 in Jakarta.

According to Rafly, furthermore, the notification of the qualification for the national level was only received on September 1 last, there were as many as 144 U-18 athletes from all regions throughout Indonesia who passed the PSSI TC for the U-20 World Cup to be held in Indonesia in 2023.

“There will be four phase of selection later on the grounds that during a pandemic like now, the health protocol must be strict,” said Rafly, who admitted to joining TC for the second phase.

Rafly hopes that with good preparation in facing the national selection, he can present the best for the people of Riau Islands.

“Hopefully I can present the best for Riau Islands,” said Rafly.

Rafly admitted that he first got to know football since the age of 7 by joining the Kemuning Layang Football School (SSB) in Tanjungpiayu, Sei Beduk District until he was 12 years old.

Head of the PSSI Riau Islands Provincial Association (Asprov) Maifrizon hopes that Rafly Ramadan can give her the best during training camps so that are selected to be included in the young Garuda main squad.
